Senior Network Engineer

Applicants will have at least 3-years practical experience in IP, Internet services and UNIX system and strong systems administrator skills.

Job Specification

We are seeking an Experienced Network Professional to be responsible for the development, operation and support of high-end data and applications services.

The work will include:

Ø Implementation and configuration of new network technologies
- maintenance of access, backbone and external networks

• monitoring and maintenance of routing and switching equipment
• operation and maintenance of network management software
• preparing reports and documentation

Requirements

Ø Candidates should have a degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science or the equivalent. Ø Candidates should have at least 5-years practical experience of IP, Internet services and UNIX systems Ø Candidates must have a keen interest in telecoms, Internet and Web technology along with a thorough understanding of TCP/IP, including:
- LAN / switching

• WAN / Routers
• Multicast
• Firewalls
• General Security Awareness

Ø Candidates will also have knowledge of Audio / Video standards & interfaces

Ø Strong Knowledge and implementation experience of MPLS/VPN/ QoS/CoS

on Juniper and Cisco platforms

Ø Candidates should have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills , good organisation skills and have the ability to lead a project Ø Ability to work to work under tight schedules and experience in configuring and managing communications equipment such as routers and switches would be valuable. Ø Experience of NGN concepts including
- SIP

• H.323
• IP Video Conferencing
• Video Streaming technologies and issues
